Brake (the road safety charity, which runs the Sudden initiative and this website) offers helpline support (0808 8000 401) to people bereaved and seriously injured in road crashes, and professionals working with them. This includes advice on supporting suddenly bereaved children and young people. Brake also produces support literature, including books for children bereaved by road crashes and books for children bereaved by any sudden cause.

Brightest Star is a Scottish registered charity that supports bereaved parents, grandparents & siblings. Brightest Star offer monthly peer support groups for bereaved parents in Glasgow and Edinburgh, individual and couples counselling sessions for parents, grandparents and adult siblings at our base Hulks Haven in Linwood and also offer a bereavement support programme for siblings aged between 3 and 16 , which includes one to one sessions with our play and art therapist.
