Child bereavement seminar, news and research - 3 July 2018

There are now only a very limited number of places available for our Supporting suddenly bereaved children and young people seminar, which will be held in London on 5 July.

This event offers a great opportunity for professionals to develop their skills and knowledge in helping children cope and recover from the shocking impact of a sudden bereavement, and provides expert insights and guidance.

Speakers include:
  • Yunus Dudhwala, Head of Chaplaincy & Bereavement Services, Barts Health NHS Trust
    Cultural and religious issues support workers may encounter following bereavement.
  • Dr Katie Koehler, Assistant Director of Bereavement Services, Child Bereavement UK
    Best practice in supporting bereaved children and young people with additional needs
  • Dr Sarah James, Lecturer in Education, University of Hull
    This session will explore how bereaved young people can best be supported in schools 

  • A Brake volunteer, discussing their personal experience of supporting children following bereavement.
